Proper Posture

December 30, 2014

Even as a chiropractor, I catch myself slouching at times. When I do, I immediately extend my spine, contract my core muscles and pull my shoulders back.  When you act like you are pinching a pencil between your “wing bones” (scapulae) you’ll find yourself in the correct position. Also, be mindful of the position of your head… don’t let it flex forward. Pull your head back so it aligns between your shoulders. Your body likes this both muscularly and neurologically!
